Hi, my name is Astrid. I work and live in Bremen, Germany. I have studied jewellery design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Pforzheim’. I graduated 2003. Since then I am working on my own. I am doing a lot of jewellery without the enamel.Yet, I am very excited about the project, because it challanges me to try some new work in enamel which I had in my mind for some time.

I love the purity of your work and personally of course, I love white, black and gray (and in my own work small areas of red) I am intrigued by the very fine hairline cracks in the enamel. I wonder whether there is an element of chance or whether you can determine and predict where the fine lines are? I really like the feel of an exquisite subtle drawing captured on the surface of the vessel.

it is both. I can determine and predict where the fine lines are but I can not predict how the ‘cracks’ will look like.
